New Breed Wiki Platforms Under Development

Ward Cunningham says his Smallest Federated Wiki project wants to be small in the “easy to learn powerful ideas” version of small. It wants to be a wiki so that strangers can meet and create works of value together. And it wants to be federated so that the burden of maintaining long-lasting content is shared among those who care.
LocalWiki is a project to create a new form of local media that makes it easy for people to learn--and share their own unique knowledge--about their local community. Davis Wiki co-founders Philip Neustrom and Mike Ivanov began working on this project after receiving a grant from the Knight Foundation.
